Salesforce went up 6%. Here is what to ask first

A price rise is a good moment to check what you actually use. Four questions to answer before the renewal conversation.

What changed

On 1 August 2025 Salesforce raised list prices by an average of 6% on Enterprise and Unlimited editions of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Service and some industry clouds. Starter, Pro and Foundations editions did not change. Customers on multi-year agreements see it at renewal.

Four questions before you renew

How many seats logged in during the last 90 days? Idle seats are the fastest saving and need no change of platform.

Which add-ons are in use? Paid add-ons bought for a project that ended tend to renew quietly.

Is another tool doing the same job? A second pipeline tracker, a separate help desk or a spreadsheet that the team trusts more than the CRM all cost money twice.

Is the edition right for how you work now? Teams that grew into Enterprise sometimes shrink back out of it.

When moving does make sense

In one of our engagements, about 70 users in sales, service, marketing and management moved off Salesforce onto one platform. The move was driven by five disconnected systems, and the old and new systems ran in parallel until the business was ready to cut over. The lower licence cost came with it. The case study is on our Proof page.

If the answers to the four questions surprise you, the licence check on our Solutions page puts a yearly figure on them.
