Governed environment replacing disconnected legacy systems
Audit trail from first carer enquiry through to approval
Access controls aligned to safeguarding obligations
01 · Situation
The fostering team ran placement management, carer records and statutory reviews across disconnected legacy systems, spreadsheets and manual case tracking.
That created compliance risk and reporting gaps, and put administrative burden on frontline social care staff who should have been spending the time elsewhere.
02 · Objectives
03 · The consolidation
In a regulated environment the data model is the control. Statutory review cycles, safeguarding escalation and auditable record-keeping were designed into the platform structure rather than bolted on afterwards as process guidance.
04 · Migration approach
The full fostering lifecycle, from carer enquiry to placement closure, is being mapped before configuration starts. Data governance and change management for frontline staff carry the same weight as the technical build.
